Hiring Radio Promoters--The radio promoter is a middleman between the artist and the stations  radio programmers. A radio promoter has relationship with all the radio station that matter. They of course only target radio stations that play your genre of music and they work out beneficial deals for the radio station and the artist to get airplay on that station. If need be a promoter will also put together a free merchandise package and press kits for artist to submit to the stations which is a smart idea being that they already work with the programmer at the station and he knows exactly what they want from an artist..

Music Reviews- Another slick marketing tool they use in the industry to create a big buzz about their artist project is music reviews. One again you have to make sure you cover art is professional or music review sites won’t give you the time of day so make sure you have amazing graphics.

Music Artist Learn 3 Things That Will GUARANTEE You Shit On Your Compeition

3 Things That Will Make People Pay Attention To Your Music

The music business is oversaturated with artist ,but yet and still you see new artist breaking into the business on a regular basis and  why is that? They figured out how to make their brand and music stand out from the pack.

How are 3 things every artist should focus on to guarantee they stand out from every. other music artist

1.Your Story: Having a compelling story is one of the most effective music marketing tools an artist can have. Your bio allows potential fans  to connect with you on a personal level and a good story will make you standout from other musicians, and will make people remember your music and your brand.
That’s why your story is so important, you want people to know your triumphs, struggles, musical achievements, etc. Majority of the people in the world go through the same type of situations of course some peoples are worse, but when person has been down the same road as you they can instantly connect with you. So make sure your bio is authentic and connects with your fans on a emotional level.

2. Your Graphics- If you go on the any music site or mixtape site you will see that majority of the  rap artist have terrible low quality graphics that aren’t appealing to the eye. I understand you want to try to save as much money as possible being that you’re an independent artist, but there are some things you have to spend money on when you’re building a business and that’s your graphics.

Your logo, mixtape cover, album cover, flyers, and web design need to be professional and represent your brand the right way. So make sure you have a budget set aside to invest in a quality graphic designer if you want people to pay attention to your music project, you have to grab their dam attention and having an unprofessional artwork will just make potential fans skip over your music and move on the next artist.

3.Your Live Performance-Music fans go to live shows for one reason...To have a great time and have an experience they’re remember and it’s your job to give them that as an artist. You always have to put your fans first, and remember people don’t come to your show just to listen to your music they could do that at home or in their car they want to be entertained.

So make sure your performance set isn’t just a bunch of your songs playing back to back make your performance personal. For example before one of your hit singles comes on you can have the Dj cut the music out before the song starts so you can talk to the audience personally and tell them what you were going through when you made the song.

When you do little personal things like that throughout your show it let’s your audience connect with you on a completely different level and that’s what will convert them into super fans. So make sure you pour your heart out every time you hit that stage and give your fans a show they can remember and trust me the venues and promoters will start contacting you and your management team.

Music Artist Learn How To Turn $1 Into 500+ Real Music Fans No B.S

Secret Way To Build Your Fan Base

Are you tired of just being a local artist, doing show after show at the same hole in the wall bar hoping you can get discovered  build your music career and get new music fans, but it just ain’t working!

You need to start using facebook ads to promote your mixtape, single,or music video straight up! The world is on Facebook and as you have probably noticed facebook videos are getting tons of views.Facebook ads can get you in front of thousands of new music fans all around the world, and the best thing is they can be targeted and they only cost pennies.

All the clients I work with I make have them apply Facebook ad marketing to their music campaign and every single artist who applied this strategy increased their fan base by at least 40%.

So I wrote this how to article to help all you independent artist to give you gives a technique that will provide you a  real way to grow your fan base and get your music heard.

Step 1.Choose The Objective Of Your Campaign:
fbb1.png

After you login, click "ad manager" on your Facebook homepage, and then click on the "create ad tab. After that you will see a page like the screenshot above that has 10 different options for promotion. Some of these option won’t apply to musicians, but I’m gonna give you a quick rundown on the objectives that apply to you the musician.

Promote your page

This option is  the most common choice used by artist. This objective will get your Facebook Fan page in front of new potential fans at ease. You can target all you ads and promote to people who like arist similar artist that are in the same lane as you,or you can base off demographics tailored toward you market.

Raise attendance at your event

This option will give your next upcoming show, cd release party etc an extra boost. This ad will place you event in front of your whole metro area for pennies.Once again with the ad targeting option your can target people who attend rap shows or whatever your genre is and increase your events exposure guaranteed. Honestly it’s hard for most local acts to have a big turn out to their shows because nobody knows about it. Well lucky for you this problem won’t exist anymore after you read this e.

Get video views

Facebook video ads are the shit point blank period. For one their videos plays a non stop teaser of your video once you upload so it grabs people’s attention asap.So when you combine that with a targeted video ad campaign it equals more fans and more exposure.
How do you think you see music artist videos who aren’t from your local area on Facebook you were apart of their targeted ad campaign.

Send people to your website

Hey, that sounds straightforward, right? Well, you can do much more than just your website. Along with your band page, you can also use this feature to send folks into your iTunes store, YouTube channel, or any other relevant outlet.

These are the main options you will use as an independent artist when you’re running a Facebook ads campaign

How to target your ad's reach

fbb2.png

After you select your objective the next page is the targeting ad section. This is the fun stuff. This is where you pick who you want to target your ad to.You can target people by age, location, and interests. You want to be as detailed as possible I will explain each section below.

Location

This is pretty much self explanatory if you’re trying to promote a local show you have coming up in Omaha, Nebraska then you only want to target that city and surrounding areas, but if you’re going on a tour you could target the cities you going to perform in,or if you have a new song you want to get to the world you can promote it worldwide. This is pretty easy just use common sense and you will be fine.,

Age and gender
Gender, you don’t have to worry about because we’re targeting guys and girls so you can select the both option. Now when it comes to selecting an age group to target with your music  I would select 18 to 35 now don’t get me wrong there might be some old school cats that like your music that are in their 40’s and 50’s,but were trying to target people we know are using the internet all the time.

Interests

This is real all the good stuff happens lol.In his section you can decide who see your ad based on the information they provided when they set up their Facebook account, pages they’ve liked ,or purchased and more. Make sure your ad is detailed the more detail the more effective the ad is.Here are a couple of word prhases you shoud use to find your target market.I would search off similar artist, genre, and keywords such like “people who like trap music.”  Just make sure detailed and creative when you select your interests.

Setting your budget
Most musicians don’t even bother with Facebook ads because they're unaware of how affordable they are and how they can help grow their music following, and increase their profits.  The fact is you can run a targeted campaign for only $5 dollars a day.I repeat only $5 dollars a day so it’s cheaper to build your music fan base using Facebook ads then it is  to buy a combo meal from Mcdonalds.

I know right now you’re thinking if that’s the case why doesn’t every artist do it? Well its because all of the social media marketers and music marketing companies want to charge you an arm and a leg to set up a campaign for you when it’s easy as hell to do.Honestly a lot of marketers are going to be pissed that I’m giving this game away, but I’m in it to help artist succeed, I’m not trying to milk artist for all the money like these companies,I understand what artist go through because I’m an artist myself .

Facebook determines how many ads your people will reach based on how much you narrowed down your audience through the age and interests section.

For example let's say you chose ages 18 to 35 who live in the Us who are interested in rap music, rap concerts, Kevin Gates,Migos, Young Jeezy, and Meek Mill.

.Here is how much you spend daily and how many people your ad will be in front of which turns io views, likes, etc:

  • $5 per day: 515 to 1,280 people everyday
  • $15 per day: 1,400 to 4,500 people everyday
  • $25 per day: 2,600 to 6,500 people everyday

Ad copy and graphics

fbb3.png
Don’t get intimidated when you see you have t create a graphic it’s nothing like creating a mixtape cover or anything like that. All you have to do here is use your cover photo or any high quality photo you would like to use. and dd whatever text you would like to put on your picture.

For example if you targeted people who like Jay Z with your ads ,on your ad graphic you might put if you like Jay z you have to hear this new artist  Click here. Then have your ad redirect them to an email list capture page on your website where you collect emails.

Just remember to always make sure your ad copy matches your graphic!

Shit You Need To Know Before You Get Your Mixtape Hosted

The Truth About Mixtape Hosting

I received hundreds of emails from music artist asking me do they need a Dj to host their mixtape so I decided to write this article because I’m pretty sure that question comes across every artist mind at sometime when they’re about to drop a mixtape.

When it comes to mixtape hosting it should be used as a marketing tool in my eyes and what I mean by that is having someone like Trapaholics ,or DJ Drama host your mixtape would be a smart move because they are branded Dj’s with a huge fanbase and they will push your mixtape to their fans and connections which can get you heard by thousands if not millions of people fast.

I honestly wouldn’t pay a no name Dj at least at first because the whole goal is to help your branding and get your mixtape more exposure and if that DJ doesn’t have a fan base and established connections so how can he really help you out.

In the new digital music business anyone can get their music project out to the world with ease. That doesn’t mean your’re going to become an overnight celebrity, but nowadays you can have a dope video or dope song an go viral online in seconds and getting that type of exposure to me is more valuable they some Dj hosting your mixtape.Plus if you notice everytime an artist releases a Dj hosted mixtape they drop a no dj version within the next couple of weeks.

A lot of people think it’s annoying to hear a Dj yelling the same shit on top of songs so people like to listen to the artist lyrics and some Dj drops drown the lyrics out.  What I’ve also noticed is a lot of these new Dj’s just slap their name on a project make a low quality mixtape cover for it and call it a day.

Now don’t get me wrong their are good Dj’s out there and they don’t just work with anybody to make a quick buck they work with artist who have quality music that they believe in.These are they type of Djs you want to work with because not only will they just host your mixtape they will push the hell out of it thru our their advertising platforms
.
My final thought  is I believe having a Dj hosting your mixtape was more valuable back in the day then it is now.I think in 2016 and beyond independent artist should spend their money more wisely. I would spend that money on professional production, industry quality mixing, and professional  artwork like mixtape covers to Itunes designs. All of those thing are better investments than paying a Dj to host your mixtape.

So do you need a Dj to host your mixtape? No but if you’re trying to get exposure fast using a branded Dj is a smart idea.

3 Things Musician Need To Focus On To Blow Up In 2016

Are Your Ready To Take Your Music Career To The Next Level This Year?

It's about to be a new year and a ton of new artist broke into the music game without a label. This year it's your turn. Here 3 thing you need to focus on in 2016 so you can turn your music into a professional career.
You spend months, even years, recording material for your mixtape – don’t throw it all away with poor planning and rookie mistakes. - See more at: http://www.makinitmag.com/blog/music-101/8-mixtape-mistakes-avoid#sthash.d0vaTIir.dpuf

Your Promotion – It doesn’t make sense to spend all your money and time in the studio creating your mixtape and then turnaround and not invest any money in your music marketing and music promotion. A good rule of thumb that successful artist follow is investing the same amount of money on the back end promoting your music as you spent creating your music.Nowadays marketing isn’t as expensive as you think.

For example you can get targeted Facebook ads for 2 cents a click that means you can get your music in front of 2,000 new faces for only $20 dollars.Another good way to get more listeners is to do some cross promotion. What I mean by cross promotion is for example you just dropped a hot single that has a nice buzz locally and online, what you would do is find 3 artist in your area or someone with a nice following online and have them get n the remix

It’s crazy how many indie artist don’t use this tactic (I think its an ego thing) look at all the big artist they drop a hit song and then they drop a remix with artist who have a  buzz also. Why because it gets you in front of a wider audience and your song will get more exposure.

One thing you never want to do is ask for Free promotion it will just make people think your cheap and that you don't take your craft seriously. You should have a monthly budget to spend on promotion hell you waste $20 a week on swishers, liquor, clothes etc $20 spent on Facebook adds will get you in front of 2,000 plus music fans .

300 Dbi Quality Graphics
– We all know the truth so you might not wanna hear what I’m about to say,but in the digital music industry a having a professional mixtape cover is just as important as the music. It’s all about image and your appearance in the music game. With some many artist releasing music it’s a must you stand out  when people are searching on these mixtape sites there are thousands of artist music to choose from so how do they decide who to listen to? They pick the artist who has attention grabbing artwork.WHY....

Their mind is subconsciously  thinking if they can’t grab my eye with their mixtape artwork they probably can’t grab my ear with their music.Which in reality makes sense. So don’t kill a good song or mixtape with dollar store graphic make sure your graphics are sharp, professional, and represent your brand the right way. Don’t try to find designer who will make you a mixtape cover  for  free because any designer who creates hi quality professional work isn’t gonna do work for free this is their career and how they feed their family.

Click Here If You Need A Professional Designer http://www.MixtapeCoverKing.com

Consistency – Don’t get me wrong there are one hit wonders popping up left and right, but if you want to have longevity in the game you have to be consistent one mixtape isn’t gonna make or break you.You have to keeping dropping quality music and investing in your craft.
